The Town of Malden announced Oct. 28 that it will hold a Community Planning Workshop for Malden Together, the city's next long-range plan, on Saturday, Nov. 7.

The workshop runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Malden Teen & Senior Center, 7 Washington Street. It is the first community-wide event for the plan, which will build on the 2010 Master Plan to chart the city's path through 2040.

The city says residents can offer input on housing, transportation, parks, jobs and businesses, natural and cultural resources, public services and other topics. The event will include activities for all ages along with complimentary coffee and breakfast items.

Malden Together is being developed through the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development and the Malden Planning Board, guided by a Steering Committee of residents, elected officials and community volunteers. A consultant team led by Agency Landscape + Planning, including local urban planners, economists, engineers and designers, is supporting the effort. The project is expected to span about two years with multiple opportunities for public engagement.

Interpretation services are available upon request by emailing eeimert@cityofmalden.org at least 48 hours before the meeting. Residents with questions or requests for a translated flyer can contact Elena Eimert at eeeimert@cityofmalden.org.
