The City of Malden announced Nov. 3 that Mayor Gary Christenson recently welcomed a new business, Tabletop Cards & Games, to 61 Exchange Street in downtown Malden.
The store offers sports cards, board games, trading card games, role playing games, war games, collectible items and more, both at the Exchange Street location and on its website. Tabletop Cards & Games is part of the holding company Prima Entertainment, whose stated mission is to become "the most fun company in the world."
According to the city, founders John and Isaiah returned to physical gaming during the 2020 pandemic lockdown, playing Magic the Gathering, board games and other tabletop card games. They published their first game in 2021 and have developed other games that are nearly ready for publishing. They also built a social media site, Tabletop Social, and a Whatnot stream, Prima Collectibles, focused on selling sports cards.
By March 2026, the founders had fully exited their previous digital agency business. In May, they signed a lease to bring their operations together in one Malden store.
For more information, including hours of operation, residents can visit the Tabletop Cards & Games website or call 413-238-1610.
