Malden sports roundup, Sept. 28 to Oct. 4

MALDEN -- Patch reports that Malden "will become home" to a new location of an indoor soccer chain, though specifics on the business's address and opening date were not detailed in the available report.

COMMUNITY -- The arrival of the indoor soccer venue adds a new recreational option for Malden families, according to Patch's brief item on the opening.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Malden Youth Soccer (MYS) says its fall travel season, open to players in grades 3 through 8, is competing against other towns in the Middlesex Youth Soccer League, with games played on weekends. The nonprofit's intown soccer program, for players in grades pre-K through 3, continues to focus on basic skills and teamwork for younger kids practicing and playing against other Malden teams. MYS, which is run entirely by volunteers, says it is looking to fill open positions for coaches, assistant coaches and referees, and is recruiting new referees for the season. The organization can be reached at info@maldenyouthsoccer.org or (339) 224-4115.
