Site Plan Review Committee for ADUs and Educational, Religious & Child Care Facility Uses · Meeting of February 17, 2026

MALDEN — The Malden Site Plan Review Committee approved an accessory dwelling unit at 109 Walnut Street, voting 3-0 on February 17. Director of Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development Alex Pratt moved the approval, requiring 1,000 square feet of open space to remain on the property. The proposal by property owner Ernst Desir and general contractor Brian Burke includes a basement unit with no interior door connection to the upper floors.

The Committee also heard a proposal for a basement ADU at 15 Andrew Street designed by architect Alvaro Lucena, though the minutes do not record a vote on that application.
