Historical Commission · Meeting of March 19, 2026
Malden Historical Commission approved building alterations at two properties and elected Inna Babitskaya as Chair and Elizabeth Salazar as Vice Chair. At 63 Corey Road, the Commission approved removal and replacement of a garage door with windows and addition of a side window and entry door, subject to conditions on design and materials. At 808 Salem Street, applicant Re Wu withdrew window replacement work for financial reasons, proceeding with deck and balcony work only, which the Commission approved subject to six conditions.
However, the Commission discovered Wu had removed one window and covered the opening with vinyl siding without approval or permits during the Commission's review period, and asked Building Commissioner Nelson Miller to attend the April 16 meeting to discuss the unauthorized modifications.
