MALDEN — The Malden Cultural Council discussed managing $10,000 in city funds with a June 30 encumbrance deadline, considering Malden Creates as fiscal sponsor for MACFest. Treasurer James Genzale reported the prior year's event cost $5,300 and required 19 vendor invoices; fiscal sponsorship would streamline accounting and reduce invoice processing. The council approved December minutes unanimously, appointed a planning team for MACFest, and considered $6,000 in matching funds.
The council formed three subcommittees: Local Priorities and Grant Evaluation, to survey the community and obtain public vote approval by July; Social Media; and Grantee and Networking Reception.
