MALDEN — The Cemetery Trustees voted unanimously to raise cemetery service fees effective February 1, 2026, as the cemetery approaches capacity. President Tuxbury reported the mayor directed budget review across departments; Superintendent Rosa noted the cemetery's pricing is significantly lower than comparable surrounding cemeteries. The board unanimously approved a $100 Niche disinterment fee.
Rosa reported November activity included three full burials, two lottery burials, one veteran burial, four cremations, and one niche disinterment. A new community partnership, the Friends of the Forest Dale Arboretum and Wreaths Across America, distributed 260 wreaths at the cemetery in December, with over 40 volunteers laying 200-plus wreaths at veterans' graves.
