Bayrd Foundation Awards Malden $500,000 for New Boathouse

MALDEN — The Bayrd Foundation has awarded the city of Malden a $500,000 grant for a new boathouse at Malden River Works Park, Mayor Gary Christenson announced Monday, days after the city learned it had received the award.

Christenson said the city received word of the $500,000 grant last week, and the funds will go toward building a new boathouse at Malden River Works Park along the Malden River. The mayor's office framed the award as a boost to the city's ongoing waterfront investment along the river corridor.
